BKMA was founded in 1982 with the Amateur Contact Karate association and later expanded to include other martial arts. Now BIKMA is one of the largest martial arts associations in the UK.
BIKMA is also active on the international scene with many members and associate members from many foreign countries.
It is primarily a traditional multi-style association but it is recognized as being the front runner of the growth and development of kickboxing in the UK. It is run my martial artist for martial artist. Our aim is to provide a complete service including Insurance, licensing, certification, events and courses.
BIKMA is controlled by an amateur executive committee with a general secretary, a president and vice president as well as a technical committee.
Enhanced C.R.B checks (if required) sanctioning of events for novices to World Championship events. We cover Light, Semi and Full Contact Kickboxing, Muay Thai, Mixed Martial Arts, Escrima stick fighting and Viking combat etc.
Many styles co-exist within BIKMA some follow the traditional style and some have combined to form new ways. This is quite valid as long as the rules and regulations are adhered to.
New Clubs
If you are a new club, we can provide you with all your insurance requirements to include top quality licence books, certificates, badges (if required). The standard cover includes public liability, instructor liability and member to member liability as well as all the advice you need.
Established Clubs
If you are an established club and would like to replace you current license provider then we can make the transition as easy as possible for you. Our insurance is the best on the market for martial artist of any style. We factor in discount for clubs with over sixty students. Our license books (if required) are hardback with gold block emblem to include space for your grades, courses and achievements as well as the insurance slip.
